BAKER COUNTY – Law enforcement is more than just dealing with criminals; it is also being a part of the communities in which they serve.  The Baker County Sheriff’s Office does what they can to be seen in a positive way in the county with things such as teaching bike safety.  Recently Deputy Maldonado spent some time with students at Brooklyn Primary School in Baker City teaching them bike safety.

Another instance of positive interactions included a trip to Halfway this week for Deputy Brian Harvey and Sheriff Travis Ash.  The two were able to take the departments sno-cone trailer to Pine Eagle School to serve sno-cones to students.  The two were greeted with smiles of appreciation by the students. Keep current on what the Baker County Sheriff’s Office is up to when you follow their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100064434892363
