BAKER COUNTY — Sometimes it’s hard to pass up a good firewood cutting opportunity. Recently, the Baker County Parks Department reported that several hazard trees were cut down in the Fizz Springs area. Baker County Parks stated on social media, “The trees are very large fir with tons of large branches. They are currently ‘green’ but should cure to become good firewood.”

The Parks Department says the public is welcome to go to Fizz Springs and take what you’d like of the firewood. Anything that is leftover in the late spring will be piled and burned, according to officials.
