UNITY — A Baker County man has been arrested on multiple charges after allegedly assaulting his daughter. On Monday, October 20th, Baker County Sheriff’s Deputy Hanson arrested Joseph David Oaks, 44, of Unity on a Baker County Circuit Court warrant for Criminal Mistreatment in the First Degree, Assault in the Fourth Degree, and Harassment.
A representative with Baker County Sheriff’s Office informed EMG that the case has gone to a grand jury. Baker County District Attorney Greg Baxter did not divulge many details surrounding the arrest, but confirmed to our news team that it did involve Oaks allegedly assaulting his teenage daughter. Baxter said the next court appearance for Joseph Oaks will be November 3rd at 10:30 a.m.
