BAKER CITY — Motorist may be noticing increased law enforcement presence over Baker County’s highways. Beginning August 19th, the Baker County Sheriff’s Office have been conducting additional overtime patrols as part of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign.
BCSO states, “Drunk driving fatalities are preventable. We believe everyone deserves to arrive home safely. If you choose to drink, designate a sober driver.”
The agency noted that the additional overtime patrols are funded in part by grant dollars received from Oregon Impact, a nonprofit aimed toward providing educational experiences to end impaired and distracted driving.
