BAKER COUNTY — The Baker County Health Department is sharing tips on preventing the= spread of communicable illness. Here recently, lots of Baker County residents have come down with “the bug”, and the health department has these pointers for when you’re on the mend, and when it may be safe to be around other people again:

(From the Baker County Health Department)

-Stay home until 24 hours after a fever subsides without fever lowering meds

-Stay home for 4-5 days after flu symptoms appear

-You are the most contagious the first 3 days of the flu and do not always have a fever

-Use tissues to cover a cough or sneeze

-Wash hands often

-Have a friend or neighbor run to the store if you are in need of something to put on your front porch
