BAKER COUNTY – The Baker County Cultural Coalition recently announced that it is now accepting 2025 grant applications. Each year, the Coalition receives funding from the Oregon Cultural Trust to provide grant opportunities for arts, culture, heritage, and humanities organizations in Baker County.

These grants are generally small, around $500 dollars on average, with a brief, accessible, application process. The deadline for 2025 cultural grant applications is May 15, 2025. Following this first round of grants, a second application period will open through October 15, 2025. For those interested in the grant program, the Cultural Coalition provided the following instructions in a recent release:

“Go to https://www.bakercounty.org/cultural_plan/bccc.html

The application is directly under the Cultural Plan in both Word and PDF Format. The completed application can be emailed to bakercountycc@gmail.com or drop off at Churchill School at 3451

Broadway Street.

A simple report is required after the completed project which is included on the grant application for easy reporting.

Contact Brian Vegter if you have questions regarding the application process.”

Keep in mind that organizations and individuals applying for grants must be based in Baker County, organizations and individuals may only receive one grant from the Coalition per calendar year, and that grant funds must be used within one year unless an extension is arranged. Grants should generally improve cultural resources in the county, preserve cultural resources or sites in the county, enhance cultural opportunities for county residents, or provide new forms of expressions of art in the county.
