LAS VEGAS — Baker City native and star steer wrestler Jesse Brown heads to his fourth consecutive Wrangler National Finals Rodeo ranked No. 2 in the steer wrestling world standings.

The Wrangler NFR, which returns to the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas Dec. 7-16, will feature the top 120 contestants in the world for a 10-day competition to determine the winners of the coveted PRCA Gold Buckle and a share of the $10.9 million purse.

Brown has earned $160,613 throughout the 2023 regular season.

On Sept. 30, the last day of the PRCA regular season, Brown won the Cinch Playoff Series Championship in Sioux Falls, S.D., with a 3.4-second run.

This win was the Baker High graduate’s highest earning and third fastest time of the year, adding $25,000 to his season earnings. His win landed him in the No. 2 world standings spot, after a knee injury at the Pendleton Round-Up which almost forced an early-ending season.

The National Finals Rodeo will air on The Cowboy Channel. Click here for more information and the schedule of events.
