On March 3, 2025 at approximately 9:12 p.m., Deputy Rosin was on patrol in Haines. While driving west on Fourth Street, he spotted a white Toyota 4Runner drive past him headed east. Deputy Rosin recognized the vehicle as it was reported stolen from Baker City earlier that evening.
Deputy Rosin turned around, caught up to the vehicle as it turned onto Highway 30 and activated the overhead lights. The driver of the vehicle turned onto Chico Lane, failing to yield. As the vehicle made another turn, the driver stuck her head out the window and looked back at Deputy Rosin. He was familiar with the subject and recognized her as Angela Aldrich (45 yoa) of Baker City. Aldrich continued to Hunt Mountain Lane, appeared to pull over near a driveway but then returned to the roadway. Deputy Rosin utilized the loudspeaker directing Aldrich to pull over. The vehicle continued to flee before pulling over at the intersection of Hunt Mountain Lane and Pocahontas Road.
Aldrich exited the vehicle and was taken into custody without incident. She was transported to the Baker County Jail and charged with Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Police Officer. Additional charges related to the original report of a stolen vehicle were issued by the Baker City Police Department: Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Theft I, Criminal Mischief I, and Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.
