Baker City Rotary Club recently announced their Rotarian of the Year

BAKER CITY – The Baker City Rotary Club has announced their Rotarian of the Year, Dr. Lloyd Nelson.

According to information from Ken Krohn with the Baker City Rotary Club, “Dr. Nelson joined Rotary on May 1st, 1986 so we would also like to congratulate him on maintaining membership in our club for 35 years! For 35 years he has faithfully served our club, our community and the world! As a Rotary member your dues support humanitarian efforts worldwide!

Dr. Nelson has served as the club’s president in the years 1991/92, 2017/18 and 2018/19, which by our records indicate that he has been president for more total time than any other Baker City Rotary member since the Baker City Rotary was chartered on July 01, 1956.

Dr. Nelson will always raise his hand to help in our community, not just at Rotary events but many other places as well.

Dr. Nelson was instrumental in bringing our largest community project and fundraiser, the American flag subscription program, to our club from the Jaycees, many years ago. Dr. Nelson has served as the chair of our Miners Jubilee buffalo burger committee since the year 2018, and has helped to make it a great success!
