BAKER CITY — Residents of Baker will now be able to report minor crimes, with just a click of a button.
The Baker City Police Department (BCPD) has introduced a new way to report minor non-suspect criminal activity through an online reporting system.
The new system is located on the department’s website at www.bakercity.com .
Police say this new reporting system is for non-suspect or minor criminal activity. These reports will be routed during normal business hours to an on-duty patrol officer who will call you back with a case number should the report need one.
In a Facebook post, the BCPD says, “To start off, we will be accepting reports for non-suspect thefts, fraud, vandalism, and hit and run. We will also accept suspicious circumstance calls (not in progress) through this new system. This program is no way intended to replace your ability to call 9-1-1 or into our dispatch center at (541) 523-3644, option 0, to report a crime. Do not use this online reporting system to report crimes in progress.”
