Baker City Police Honor Two Members and Welcome Another

BAKER CITY – (Information from Baker City) During the Law Enforcement Recognition Banquet last Thursday, Sergeant Wayne Chastain and Phoebe Wachtel from the Baker City Police Department each received an award. Chastain earned the drug recognition expert award and Wachtel received a community service award. In a recent newsletter, City Manager Jonathan Cannon reflected on the banquet, stating, “All in all, it was a night that our law enforcement could be proud at which to be honored.”

In addition to the two honorees, Baker City would also like to welcome Melody Pierce to the department as a part-time evidence technician. Formally from Nampa, Idaho, Melody moved to Baker City in May of 2022 and officially signed with the department as of February 7. Jonathan Cannon noted, “We are glad she has joined our Baker City Staf.”
