BAKER CITY – The Baker City Police Department recently received a $1,200 grant from Oregon Department of Transportation for the purchase of child safety seats for distribution to low-income families.
According to the Oregon Department of Transportation, “Child passengers must be restrained in child safety seats until they weigh forty pounds or reach the upper weight limit for the car seat in use. If are you are concerned that you child’s car sear is not installed correctly or that it may not be appropriate for the age and/or size of your child, call your local Baker City Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) Phoebe Wachtel at 541-524-2014 to set up your appointment for a free car seat inspection.
