Baker City Planning Department warns of recent email scam

BAKER CITY — According to officials with the City of Baker City, scam emails have been going out to local property owners, “requesting that their outstanding fees be wired to them.” Staff with the City of Baker City assure the public that the city would never ask for funds to be transferred. While the emails may look accurate with the city’s address and contact information, it is a scam. The emails may appear to come from the Baker City Planning Department.

City officials ask residents to, “Please be aware of these scams and reach out directly if you have questions about your planning applications.”
