BAKER CITY — A Baker City man arrested for exposing himself in front of a minor in July 2023 has been sentenced to 30 days in jail.
75-year-old Robert Dean Conklin pleaded guilty to one count of public indecency, a Class A misdemeanor.
He also received 18-months probation but due to no criminal history, does not have to register as a sex offender, according to Oregon law.
Police say that on the morning of July 17, Conklin was sitting in a car on the intersection of Washington and Grove when he summoned a nearby juvenile male over. As Conklin was sitting in his car, the juvenile male allegedly witnessed him performing a lewd act upon himself. The juvenile male then hit Conklin in the arm with a skateboard and left the area.
Police were then called and arrested Conklin.
