BAKER CITY — A Baker City man has been sentenced to 30 days in county jail and three years of probation after admitting to sending sexually explicit photographs to a minor.

Samuel Madison Jr., 20, pleaded guilty in Baker County Circuit Court on Tuesday, July 16, to one count of luring a minor, a Class C Felony. The charges stem from an incident in December 2023, when Madison sent explicit photos of himself to a 14-year-old girlโ€™s cellphone.

Madison, who knew the girl, will also be required to register as a sex offender.

โ€œThe presumptive sentence for this felony is 30 days and the victimโ€™s family is good with that,โ€ said Greg Baxter, District Attorney of Baker County. โ€œThey want to make sure that the community and their daughters are protected.ย

The case came to light when the girlโ€™s mother discovered the explicit photos on her daughterโ€™s phone. Baker City Police arrested Madison on January 4, 2024.
