BAKER CITY – (Information from the Oregon State Police) On February 3, Craig Anthony Willey of Baker City was arrested by the Oregon State Police during a domestic assault call. The incident occurred on I-84 near milepost 325 westbound near Baker City at approximately 5:30 a.m. Willey’s charges include criminal mischief I, disorderly conduct II, escape III, attempt to elude fleeing (foot), reckless endangering person, harassment and possession of Methamphetamine – < 2g. Anthony was also arrested on other outstanding warrants. He is currently lodged in the Baker County Jail. The investigation is still ongoing.
The OSP have released the following summary of events:“Narrative Summary: The Oregon State Police were called to a Domestic Violence Assault. When the Troopers arrived, the reported victim was not on scene. The reported suspect was still in the area, and he also had three active warrants for his arrest. The suspect was armed with a hatchet during the initial contact and running across the lanes of travel on the interstate. The Troopers were ultimately able to take the suspect into custody without further incident or injury. The associated vehicle was towed from the scene incident to arrest by Roadrunner Towing. The suspect was transported to the Baker County Jail and lodged on the outstanding warrants. OSP will attempt contact the victim and all information will be provided to the District Attorney’s Office for additional charges to be filed.”
