Baker City man arrested after massive amount of fentanyl found at home with small child inside

BAKER CITY
— (Release from Baker City Police) On March 21, 2024, at about 2:30 pm Baker City Police Officers contacted ANTHONY TYLER TALLEY, age 28, at his residence, 1100 Auburn Avenue, Baker City, Oregon regarding a secret indictment warrant out for TALLY’s arrest for Unlawful possession of a controlled substance (Fentanyl) and endangering the welfare of a minor. 

Anthony was taken into custody on the warrants and lodged in the Baker County Jail. 

The secret indictments stemmed from a Baker County Narcotics Enforcement Team investigation about six months ago. Detectives executed a search warrant at Tally’s residence on November 27th , 2023, where officers located over 500 fentanyl pills and other items indicative of drug trafficking. A small child was in the home at the time of the warrant service. The case was presented to a Baker County Grand Jury this month.

Fentanyl pills and powder along with methamphetamine are the primary narcotics that Baker City Police/Narcotics Team is encountering in and around Baker City and Eastern Oregon. Fentanyl continues to be the primary drug that individuals are overdosing on in our community.

The Baker County Narcotics Enforcement Team is composed of members from the Baker City Police Department and is supported by the Baker County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon State Police and Baker County District Attorney’s Office.

The mission of the narcotics team is to disrupt and/or dismantle mid to upper-level drug trafficking individuals and organizations, address violent crime as well as provide valuable intelligence and investigative resources to all law enforcement regarding unlawful criminal activity. Detectives Assigned to this team investigate major crimes as well and are part of the Baker County Major Crime Team.
