BAKER CITY — A Baker City man is facing multiple charges, including felony kidnapping, for allegedly entering his ex-girlfriend’s home, holding a knife to her stomach and preventing her from leaving.
21-year-old Isaiah Brown was arrested around midnight on Monday, February 26.
According to the probable cause affidavit. Baker City Police received a call from a third-party saying a young woman was being held against her will by her ex-boyfriend at an apartment on 2nd Street. Officer Mason Powell arrived and reported hearing screaming coming from the second story of the building.
Officer Powell made entry into the building, where the victim ran down the stairs to meet him. She said her on again, off again boyfriend Brown had held her down and put a knife against her stomach.

The woman said Brown entered her apartment very angry, saying she owed him money. He allegedly threw her on the bed several times and got on top of her, holding a knife to her stomach. She says her fear level was 10 out of 10, because he had hurt her in the past.
She says she tried to lock herself in her bathroom several times, but Brown allegedly repeatedly broke through the door and continued to hold her down, threaten and taunt her. She alleged that Brown ripped her shirt off during the incident, and repeatedly threatened her to keep her shirt off.
The woman said throughout the incident, Brown would not let her leave the apartment and that when he pressed a knife to her stomach, he claimed “I’m going to show you who you belong to.” The victim says she believed Brown was going to cut his name into her body, as he had threatened to brand her in the past.
Officer Powell made contact with Brown, who admitted he lost his temper because another man had called the victim’s phone. He admitted the knife belonged to him and that he did pull it out during the altercation.
Brown was arrested and is now lodged in the Baker County Jail on charges of Second Degree Kidnapping, Menacing and Harassment.
The woman was taken to the hospital to be evaluated.
