Baker City Honors Fallen Firefighter

BAKER CITY – In a recent update, City Manager for Baker City Jonathan Cannon gave the following statement regarding recently passed volunteer Firefighter Ryan Brecko:
“Baker City mourns the death of our paid part-time employee Ryan Brecko. Ryan died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on Sunday, March 12, 2023. Ryan Brecko was a paid part-time firefighter with the Baker City Fire Department. He also volunteered and was a member of the Baker Rural and Bowen Valley Fire Protection District. Fire Chief David Blair is working with the family to make funeral arrangements for March 22, 2023, 1:00 PM at the Baker Rural Fire Protection District building on Settlers Loop. A temporary memorial is set up in front of the Baker City Fire Department. Thank you to all who have placed flowers and other memorabilia at the memorial.
