BAKER CITY – (Release from Baker City Downtown) Baker City Downtown is soliciting project letters of intent (LOI) for the 2025 Oregon Main Street Revitalization Grant funded by Oregon Main Street, State Historic Preservation Office, Oregon Parks and Recreation Department. BCD is seeking projects that rehabilitate historic structures in our downtown district. Projects should directly lead to new businesses, commercial opportunities, or investments happening downtown. Successful projects will be in a state of readiness or can quickly proceed to construction once the grant is awarded.

The purpose of the OMSRG grant program is to: acquire, rehabilitate, or construct buildings on properties in designated downtown areas statewide; and facilitate community revitalization that will lead to private investment, job creation or retention, establishing or expanding viable businesses, or creating a stronger tax base.

LOIs will be accepted by BCD from January 13 – February 14, 2025, for review by the BCD Grants Committee. The Grants Committee will score each project, perform site visits at the top scoring projects, then make their grant application selection by February 21, 2025. Once selected, the BCD Executive Director will work with the selected project manager to complete the grant application by March 13, 2025. The state will then review all applications and make their final award notifications in May 2025.
