BAKER CITY — (Release from Baker City Downtown) The Baker City Foundation Board for Saint Alphonsus is pleased to announce exciting new changes to Festival Of Trees. They will be passing the Festival of Trees event and fundraiser to local nonprofit, Baker City Downtown!
Baker City Downtown is incredibly excited to steward Baker’s Festival of Trees event beginning this year. The renewed and reinvigorated event will benefit all of Baker by preserving and enhancing the vitality and character of our community through a new community grant fund administered by BCD.
Baker’s Festival Of Trees is a great community event that was formerly the primary fundraiser for the Baker City Foundation Board for Saint Alphonsus to fund projects for the local hospital. Due to Covid and staffing changes, the event was put on hold for two years. Last year, the Foundation Board hosted a “mini” Festival of Trees with local partners, Kiwanis International Club and Crossroads Carnegie Art Center.
On September 14th, 2023 the Baker City Foundation Board and Baker City Downtown Board determined the Festival of Trees event and fundraiser would better serve the community with these changes. Transferring the hosting and operation of this event to Baker City Downtown allows for the event to take a new direction that benefits the whole community. BCD will be announcing more details later this week.
