Bailey Hayes named principal of Green Park Elementary in Walla Walla

WALLA WALLA – Walla Walla Public Schools has appointed Bailey Hayes as the new principal of Green Park Elementary, following an extensive selection process involving district staff, parents, and community members.
Hayes, who currently serves as the school’s assistant principal, will officially assume her new role on July 1, 2026. Her promotion creates a vacancy for the assistant principal position, which the district will begin searching for immediately.
Superintendent Ben Gauyan praised Hayes’ instructional leadership and her ability to build meaningful relationships. “She emerged from a strong and competitive candidate pool through a process that reflected the voices of our entire Green Park community,” Gauyan said.
With seven years of classroom experience and previous administrative roles at Prospect Point and Edison Elementary schools, Hayes has a background in dual-language programs and social-emotional learning. Hayes said she is “deeply honored” to lead the school and build on its student success.
