B2H public meetings are this week

SALEM, Oregon —  The Oregon Department of Energy is  holding public meetings on the draft proposed order for the Boardman to Hemingway Transmission Line. Meetings are set in every county that will be touched by the high-voltage line from Hemingway, Idaho to Boardman.

People are welcome to speak at the meetings. A session will be held Wednesday at the Pendleton Convention Center, and another is scheduled Thursday at the Port of Morrow in Boardman. Both meetings will be from 4:30-8 p.m.

In Umatilla County, the line will pass through south of Pilot Rock to the Morrow County line. County Commissioners George Murdock and John Shafer plan to attend the Pendleton meeting.

Meetings have already been held in Malheur, Baker, and Union counties. The Energy Facility Siting Council of the Oregon Department of Energy will accept written opinions until July 23.
