Authorities responding to fire near Helix

UPDATE 7/14/2025 4:23 P.M. – Pacific Power has said that emergency de-energizations of their power lines are possible due to this fire. According to their website it’s for zip codes 97835 and 97862. They says some lines have already been de-energized and 42 customers have been affected, they do not have an estimated time of when that power will be restored.
HELIX – The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office (UCSO) says authorities have responded to a fire in a wheat field in the area of North Juniper Canyon Road, Vanscycle Road and Butler Grade Road outside of Helix.
UCSO says two homes have been contacted to evacuate near Butler Grade Road and Vanscycle Road. They’re monitoring the situation and fire units are actively working the fire.
UCSO is asking the public to stay out of the area for their safety, and to allow fire units to work.
