ATV hearing is on the agenda

WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla County Board of Commissioners will meet today at 10 a.m. On the agenda, a continued public hearing on a proposed ordinance related to wheeled all-terrain vehicles on country roads with speed limits of 35 miles per hour or less.

Commissioners will also consider approving an intergovernmental agreement extension to house juvenile detainees from Umatilla County at the Walla Walla County Juvenile Justice Center. If approved, the contract will be extended to June 30, 2022. Walla Walla County has been housing juvenile detainees from Umatilla County since July 2012.

Also on the agenda, commissioners will consider approving a final plat amendment for Villa Del Vio planned unit development, located northwest of Old Milton Highway near Fiddler Court, which increases the size of the residential lots and decreases the size of open lot space. In June, Walla Walla County Hearing Examiner Gary McLean granted approval of the final plat/PUD amendment application with conditions requiring map changes, which have been completed. The final plat map has been reviewed by all appropriate agencies for conformance with the condition of approval and staff from the Walla Walla County Community Development Department recommends that the final plat amendment map be approved by the Walla Walla County Board of Commissioners.
