LA GRANDE – Residents from around La Grande including along Adams Ave, Second Street, Third Street and Division reported several crimes over the weekend. According to reports from the La Grande Police Department (LGPD) released this morning, “the first call was taken on the 25th at 10:30PM in front of the Folly Building located on Adams between 4th Street and Chestnut Street. Someone had damaged a tree and used part of the tree to damage the windshield of a pickup parked nearby. The spree then went west to Second Street, then north to north Third Street and then west on Division.”
In total the La Grande Police Department has approximately 15 victims of criminal mischief. The suspect(s) slashed vehicle tires, broke vehicle glass and even attempted to set one vehicle on fire on the 2600 block of Third Street. LGPD notes that “the crime spree appeared to have stopped at the 600 block of Division Street. Collectively, there was thousands of dollars of damage done, mainly to vehicles.”
These cases are still being investigated and security camera footage is being reviewed.
