WALLOWA, OR – Nicole Freshley of Enterprise, a watercolor artist, is supporting the Wallowa Avalanche Center through sales of limited edition ski art. Freshley started skiing a few years and does most of her skiing in the backcountry. She said there is a lot of avalanche danger in parts of the backcountry and that it is important to read the snowpack and make safe decisions. Freshley noted that our area is very fortunate to have an avalanche center that provides snowpack information and avalanche forecasts for the region.

The Wallowa Avalanche Center is a non-profit agency and it relies on financial support from the community; this motivated Freshley to help the center through her art. Freshley is contributing 50 percent of the profits from her limited edition “Avy Savvy” prints to the Wallowa Avalanche Center. So far a third of the artwork has sold and Freshley is hoping to donate $1,500 after the remainder sells.
