VALE — The Drexel H. Foundation in Vale is slated to receive a $2,000 grant from the Oregon Arts Commission. The award is part of the commission’s Sustaining Arts Program and “…supports nonprofit arts organizations that offer ongoing, high-quality outreach programs and arts services or artistic programming in their communities,” according to a release.
The Drexel H. Foundation’s mission is “…to enrich the lives of youth & families by providing art, humanities, and multicultural experiences; to restore & preserve historical buildings in rural eastern Oregon.”
The commission explains the Sustaining Arts Program Awards are based on a funding formula that considers an organization’s annual expenses, the number of applications received and available grant funds.
A total of 317 arts and culture organizations were awarded grants.
