WALLA WALLA — A bench warrant has been issued for a 36-year-old man arrested last month in Walla Walla by the Washington State Patrol on several charges.
Tyler M. Usko, 36, with no known address, failed to appear for an arraignment hearing on Tuesday, July 6, and also was a no-show at his rescheduled arraignment on Friday, July 9. He was arrested June 23 on State Route 12 and Mill Creek Road after allegedly driving erratically through a construction zone.
Usko faces charges of attempting to elude a pursuing police vehicle, driving under the influence, driving while suspended or revoked in the third degree, and violation of the uniform controlled substances act – use of drug paraphernalia.
Walla Walla County Superior Court Judge Patricia Fulton issued the bench warrant.
Court documents indicate that following Usko’s arrest the conditions of release pending trial allowed him to either reside at a private residence on the 600 block of Military Street or at the Christian Aid Center, both in Walla Walla. He was also subject to random urinalysis testing and was required to call in daily.
If the name sounds familiar, Usko was sentenced to six months in jail in March 2020, after he pleaded guilty to assaulting two Walla Walla police officers on Dec. 26, 2019. He was arrested at the Christian Aid Center after trying to start fights. While being processed at the Walla Walla County Jail, he punched an officer in the face breaking his nose and kicked another officer in the chest.
