ISLAND CITY — (Information from the Union County Sheriff’s Office) Authorities have arrested a suspect believed to be responsible for a string of burglaries and thefts in Island City..
Tobias Allen Knox, born on August 21, 2003, was arrested by Union County Sheriff’s Deputies on August 21, 2023, in connection with the series of crimes.
The spree of burglaries came to light on August 16th when a Union County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to a residence on South C Street following a report of trespassing. The subsequent investigation revealed that several homes in the vicinity had fallen victim to burglaries. Law enforcement managed to recover stolen items and promptly returned them to their rightful owners.
Following efforts by Union County Sheriff’s Deputies, Tobias Allen Knox was identified as the prime suspect in the burglaries and thefts. He was taken into custody on August 21st at a residence located in Elgin.
A thorough search led to the recovery of evidence linking Mr. Knox to the crimes, and he now faces a multitude of charges, including Burglary I, Burglary II, Theft II, Theft III, Criminal Trespass I, Criminal Trespass II, and Unlawful Entry Into a Motor Vehicle.
