Arrest made in August gas station shooting in Walla Walla

WALLA WALLA – Alejandro J. Lomeli, 26, of Walla Walla was arrested Monday for the August 27 shooting of a 27-year-old man at the Shell gas station, located on the 2100 block of East Isaacs Avenue. The victim
suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

During their investigation, detectives from the Walla Walla Police Department identified Lomeli as the shooter. Probable cause was developed, and a warrant was issued for Lomeli’s arrest.

On Monday, Sept. 18, at approximately 6 a.m., WWPD officers located Lomeli in the Eastgate area. A high-risk traffic stop was initiated, and Lomeli was taken into custody.

Lomeli was booked into the Walla Walla County Jail on charges of first-degree assault, drive by shooting, plus second and third-degree malicious mischief.

The investigation is ongoing.
