Arrest made after hit-and-run incident in Heppner

HEPPNER – A 26-year-old Heppner man was arrested Tuesday following a hit-and-run that damaged a vehicle, a light pole, and a fire hydrant.

Morrow County Sheriff’s said the incident was first discovered when a light pole was found knocked over and a fire hydrant damaged at the corner of May and Chase Streets, behind the Les Schwab Tire store. A parked vehicle on Center Street was also round with hit-and-run damage.

Following an investigation involving witness interviews and security footage, deputies arrested the suspect and transported him to the Umatilla County Jail.

The case has been forwarded to the Morrow County District Attorney’s Office for review of formal charges.
