ENTERPRISE – April starts tomorrow and that means the start of National Distracted Driving Awareness Month. The City of Enterprise is reminding citizens that the Enterprise Police Department will be on the lookout for distracted drivers.
Districted Driving refers to more than just cell phones. According to Wikipedia, “Distracted driving is the act of driving while engaging in other activities which distract the driver’s attention away from the road. Distractions are shown to compromise the safety of the driver, passengers, pedestrians, and people in other vehicles.”
Visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website for more information on how data on motor vehicle crash deaths are collected and the limitations of distracted driving data.
