Applications open for Soroptimist International of La Grande’s Community Benefits Grants

LA GRANDE – Soroptimist International of La Grande (SILG) recently announced that applications for its Community Benefits Grants are now open through May 1, 2026. This is a chance to request funding for local projects that support educational, vocational, or social opportunities and resources for women in Union County as per the goals of SILG.

Specifically, applicants may request up to $5,000 dollars to (as written by SILG) fund Union County based projects such as (but not limited to):

  • Educational programs or workshops for women and girls
  • Career training, mentorship, or life skills development
  • Outreach or public awareness events
  • Supplies and materials (excluding single-use items) that support ongoing, impactful programs

Soroptimist describes its specific vision as:

  • Empowering women and girls through education
  • Providing access to resources that help women and girls realize their goals and improve their quality of life

Grant funds cannot be used for capital improvements/construction expenses, administrative/operational expenses, sports, clubs, or recreational expenses.

As mentioned, the deadline to apply is May 1, 2026. Applications will be reviewed on March 1, and May 1, 2026. Successful applicants will be asked to attend a luncheon on June 18, 2026.
