Applications open for Soroptimist International of La Grande’s 2026 spring scholarships

LA GRANDE – Applications are once again open for Soroptimist International of La Grande’s spring scholarships. Various opportunities are available for women in Union County looking to start, continue, or finish their post-high school education or training during the 2026-27 academic year.

Applications are currently open now through 5:00 p.m. April 3, 2026. Scholarships are available for educational or vocational schools, though applicants need to have graduated or be planning to graduate from a local Union County High School. Between $2,500 and $5,000 dollars may be available, depending on specific scholarship.

Scholarship details (as originally posted on the Soroptimist International of La Grande website) are as follows:

Continuing Education – University or Community College Scholarship

Academic Year: 26-27

Submission Deadline: April 3, 2026 5 pm

Eligibility info & Application:

  • Must be eligible for Sophomore or Junior at a University or Community College Fall 2026
  • Must have graduated from a Union County high school
  • GPA of 2.75 or better

Graduating High School Student – University or Community College Scholarship

Academic year: 26-27

Submission Deadline: April 3, 2026 5 pm

Eligibility info & Application:

  • Must be graduating from a Union County high school
  • Must be attending a four-year University, or Community College in the Fall 2026
  • GPA of 2.50 of better

Graduating High School Student – Trade/Vocational School Scholarship

Academic year: 26-27

Submission Deadline: April 3, 2026 5 pm

Eligibility info & application:

  • Must have graduated from a Union County high school
  • Must be attending Trade/Vocational school in the Fall 2026

Gerry Braseth-Palmer Memorial Medical Scholarship

Submission Deadline: April 3, 2026 5 pm

Eligibility Info and Application

  • Must be admitted into an official program for a career in the medical field
  • Must be enrolled in a university, community college, or trade/vocational school in the Fall of 2026
  • Must have graduated from a Union County high school
  • GPA of 2.75 or better
