BAKER COUNTY โ€“ Anthony Lakes Mountain Resort has something big in the works. In a recent update, Anthony Lakes Outdoor Recreation Association announced an ambitious project to both rebuild the resortโ€™s venerable but aging rental and repair shop building and construct a brand-new youth center. As written by Anthony Lakes:

โ€œWhile we wouldnโ€™t change a thing about the mountain itself, the buildings we use every day are another story. After surviving nearly a century of Eastern Oregon winters, a lot of them need at least a little love. And one of them โ€“ the Rental & Repair Shop that serves thousands of visitors every year and outfits hundreds of kids every week for our nonprofit youth programs โ€“ needs a lot more than that. It needs a total rebuild.โ€

Currently, the Outdoor Recreation Association is working to raise 1.5 million dollars to construct the modern shop and the new youth center. Longterm, this will provide improved services to regular resort users and a modern, dedicated space for youth learning to ski and snowboard for the first time, in addition to other functions.

Anthony Lakes reports that, as of the time of writing, around half the needed funds have already been provided with support from Travel Oregon, The Leo Adler Foundation, and the Wilson Family Foundation. The goal is to have the new facilities up and running by winter 2026-27.
