GRANT COUNTY – Despite being marked as “closed” through signage as well as on ODOT’s TripCheck, yet another semi truck got stuck up Keeney Fork Road yesterday. The call came into Grant County Emergency Communications around 1:40 p.m. regarding a stuck semi truck on Grant County Road 18.
Grant County Sheriff Todd McKinley was on Coffee Time earlier this winter and explained how these situations sometimes happen:
“Truck drivers trying to drive through there with their semis and stuff—part of that is, they’ll start out and the road is good. They’ll get in there part way and the snow is instantly pretty deep, and they can’t turn around, they’re committed. They blindly try to go forward until they just can’t go anymore.”
