UNION COUNTY – (Information provided by Paul Anderes, Union County Commissioner) Union County Commissioner, Paul Anderes has announced that he has filed to run for re-election for Union County Commissioner position number one. Anderes said, “It has been my honor to serve as Union County Commissioner for the past 32 months. As I look back at my time in office I am amazed at how often we have used the word unprecedented. COVID derailed many plans and projects that I hoped to accomplish. However, even within the restrictions COVID, I was able to achieve a number of things of which I am proud. I completed Association of Oregon Counties’ County College, a program where we learned about many of the federal and state programs and how they impact County Government. I was selected by my peers to serve as the Chairperson of Eastern Oregon Counties Association (EOCA). Through EOCA we were able to partner on a comprehensive economic study for our region. As part of the Union County Board of Commissioners I was able to support our local businesses through the distribution of CARES federal dollars. I would be grateful for the opportunity to continue working for all of Union County.”
