Here, in no particular order, is a listing of events throughout the area that we were notified were happening. Be safe and have fun on the holiday weekend.
HERMISTON
The Hermiston Family Aquatic Center is hosting a pool party at 6 p.m. Saturday with live music and dinner.
Hermiston’s fireworks will begin at the top of the Butte at 10 p.m. Saturday

PENDLETON
Pendleton’s fireworks will be behind the Round-Up Grounds at dusk. Parking will be available at the Pendleton Convention Center. People should not bring their own fireworks to the show.
On Saturday, the Pendleton Let ’er Buck Post No. 922 is leading a parade through town beginning at 10 p.m. Roy Raley Park next to the Round-Up Grounds will be the scene of a community celebration from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
WALLA WALLA
The city of Walla Walla is hosting a fireworks display at Walla Walla Community College at 10 p.m. Saturday.
MISSION
The 30th annual pow wow happens all weekend at Wildhorse Resort & Casino. The first grand entry is at 7 p.m. Friday, with events planned Saturday and Sunday as well.
BOARDMAN
Boardman’s Marina Park is the scene of a party that begins with breakfast at 7 a.m. and lasts until fireworks at dusk.
DAYTON, WA
Dayton’s Community Celebration on the 4th starts at 1 p.m. in Pietrzycki Park. There will be everything from kids’ games to a cornhole tournament.
MILTON-FREEWATER
The Milton-Freewater Patriotic Festival is from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Yantis Park. There will be no fireworks, but plenty of activities and live entertainment. This is also the 75th anniversary of the cities of Milton and Freewater joining together.
WESTON
Weston is celebrating America 250 at Elliot Park from 4:30-8:30 p.m. Put on your red, white and blue. There’s a costume contest for the most patriotically dressed by age groups.
CONDON
Condon’s Fabulous 4th of July is a two-day festival that starts at 8 a.m. Friday and doesn’t end until 11:59 p.m. Saturday hosted by the Oregon Frontier Chamber of Commerce. Check out the chamber’s website for all the details including a parade, live entertainment, a golf tournament, soap box derby, and, of course, fireworks.
IONE
Ione has a car show, a parade, a bike raffle, Lazer tag, and other activities. There will be live music and fireworks when the sun sets.
STANFIELD
Stanfield starts its celebration at Bard Park at 6 p.m. Friday with a steak feed. On Saturday, there will be a parade starting and ending at Coe Park. Then, it’s back to Bard Park for activities. Fireworks when the sun sets will light the skies thanks to Umatilla County Fire District No. 1.
