DAYTON – Charges are mounting against Isaiah McGanty of Dayton. He was arrested in late January as a suspect in a string of burglaries of churches and businesses in the area. Initially, McGanty was charged with second-degree burglary.

Court records indicate he is also now facing charges of second- and third-degree possession of stolen property, first-degree stolen property trafficking, and third-degree driving with a suspended license.

The investigation by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office indicates that one of the reasons McGanty was a suspect in the crimes was that his bank card was found in one of the churches. The charges against McGanty could grow even more, according to the sheriff’s office as its investigation continues.
