All evacuation levels are lifted for the Hagen Fire

UMATILLA & UNION COUNTIES AND UMATILLA INDIAN RESERVATION – The Joint Emergency Management Center has lifted all evacuation levels associated with the Hagen Fire at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday). All areas are returned to normal status.

Officials say that the decision reflects continued improvement in fire conditions and the work completed by firefighters and partner agencies.

From the task force:

While evacuation levels are being lifted, the U.S. Forest Service area closure remains in effect. Returning to Normal evacuation status does not mean closed National Forest lands are open to the public.

Residents and visitors should also remember that the absence of visible smoke does not mean all hazards are gone. Burned areas may still contain weakened or falling trees, rolling or falling rocks, pockets of remaining heat, unstable terrain, and firefighters or heavy equipment working in the area.

The removal of evacuation levels does not automatically lift separate road, land-management or area closures.

The lifting of the remaining Hagen Fire evacuation levels is an important milestone for the communities impacted by the fire. Emergency officials from Umatilla County, Union County, CTUIR and partner agencies will continue coordinating as needed. With all Hagen Fire evacuation zones returning to Normal, routine evacuation-level updates associated with the Hagen Fire will conclude. If conditions change and additional public safety information is needed, updates will be provided.
