JOHN DAY – The Blue Mountain Hospital District, along with other agencies including BLM Law Enforcement, Grant County Sheriff’s Office and the Oregon Department of Forestry will be taking part in an active shooter drill tomorrow morning in John Day. BMHD’s EMS Lead, Makaela Hughet, said not to be alarmed once the drill begins. Hughet was recently on KJDY’s Coffee Time and explained the drill:
“It’s going to be an active shooter drill at the ODF compound–a simulation, of course–from start to finish. So, from a 9-1-1 call, all of us being dispatched, take the patients in the ambulance, and then they will carry through the E.R. Department, all the way through Life Flight activation.”
The drill is expected to begin around 7 a.m. on the morning of Wednesday, May 22nd.
