A major project will close 2nd Street

LA GRANDE – Since the prep-work has been completed on 2nd Street this week, the La Grande Public Works Department will begin a major project that may affect your travels. Beginning Monday, April 12, 2021, 2nd Street will be closed from Spring to Washington Avenue. Crews will begin excavation of the existing roadway, removal of curbs and construct new ADA approved corner ramps. The construction project is expected to take 4 to 6 weeks. The work will then move to 2nd Street from Washington to Adams Avenue and paved once the work is completed. Further updates will be issued as the project progresses.
