JOHN DAY – Families First of Grant County Program Director Katrina Randleas was on KJDY’s Coffee Time Monday to discuss poverty in Grant County. Randleas said Families First has resources available to community members who wish to learn more about local poverty and how they can help:

“We offer a workshop called Be The Difference, which is a combination of poverty competency and trauma-informed care services. The goal being, that if we combined poverty and trauma awareness, then we have the option to really make sure that we’re reaching out to families in a way that’s helpful to families, and not in a way that often creates more of a barrier.”

Randleas said the workshop is open to groups or individuals in the community.
