ENTERPRISE – A Skate Park project in Enterprise has received a donation from a citizen in Wallowa County. Building Healthy Families, an independent, local nonprofit family support organization received $51,500.00 from a private citizen. The skate park idea was led by a group of students in the Wallowa County Alternative Education Program. The idea would give youth more opportunities to engage in pro-social activities and reduce boredom and reduce time to engage in risky behavior. Initially, the project was funded by grant dollars and since then a generous donation was received. During the latest City of Enterprise Council meeting, council members gave the go-ahead on the project. The council approved a donation of $3,500 to help with the difference to replace the existing structures at the park and replace with new structures.
