City of Burns moves Veterans Day observance to November 9th, ahead of Wednesday’s URA and council meetings

BURNS-City of Burns offices will observe Veterans Day early this year, closing municipal facilities on Monday, Nov. 9, 2026, in honor of the nation’s military service members.

While Veterans Day officially falls on Wednesday, Nov. 11, the city announced that offices will operate on an adjusted holiday schedule to accommodate public municipal business later in the week. By observing the holiday on Monday, the City of Burns will remain open on Wednesday to conduct scheduled meetings for both the Burns Urban Renewal Agency (URA) and the Burns City Council.

City offices are scheduled to reopen promptly at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10.

The URA and City Council sessions will proceed as planned on Wednesday, Nov. 11, and remain open to the public.

Residents planning to visit City Hall for utility payments, permits, or other local government services are advised to adjust their schedules accordingly and conduct business before the Monday closure or after offices reopen on Tuesday morning.
