Burns firefighters halt spread of fully engulfed structure fire on Embree Bridge Lane

HARNEY COUNTY-Firefighters from the Burns Fire Department, aided by mutual aid from neighboring Hines, responded to a fully engulfed structure fire late last month, working quickly to protect adjacent properties from catching fire.

Emergency crews were dispatched at approximately 11:44 a.m. on Oct. 29, 2026, to a reported structure fire located at 35051 Embree Bridge Lane.

The Burns Fire Department mobilized Chief 100, Engine 103, and Tender 110 to the scene. Due to water supply demands, the Hines Fire Department was requested to provide mutual aid with an additional water tender.

Upon arrival, responders discovered the primary structure completely engulfed in flames. With fire actively threatening two nearby buildings, personnel concentrated their operations on exposure protection to keep the blaze from spreading to the neighboring structures.

The incident was referred to the Oregon State Fire Marshal’s Office, which conducted an investigation into the cause and origin of the fire.
