Firefighters extinguish blaze at Walla Walla Home, no injuries reported

WALLA WALLA — Firefighters quickly brought a residential blaze under control Sunday morning in Walla Walla, preventing injury but leaving an estimated $350,000 in damage.
Emergency crews were dispatched around 8:35 a.m. to a home on the 1600 block of University Drive, according to the Walla Walla Fire Department. Walla Walla County Fire District No. 4 also responded under a mutual-aid agreement.
First-arriving units encountered heavy smoke and flames pouring from the home’s carport, with the fire spreading into the main structure. Firefighters gained entry, searched for occupants, and attacked the blaze, bringing it under control by 8:55 a.m.
No injuries were reported among residents or emergency personnel.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
