Man with criminal history in Pendleton is arrested in Hines

HARNEY COUNTY – Christopher Lee Gonsalves, 38, was arrested Wednesday by Hines Police Department officers on three outstanding arrest warrants from Pendleton. Police stated the arrest at a residence on South Roanoke Avenue was due to an anonymous tip.

He was arrested without incident and incarcerated in Harney County Jail. If Gonsalves doesn’t face any charges in Harney County it is considered likely he will be brought to the Umatilla County Jail through the Northwest Regional Shuttle System prisoner transport system. Umatilla County’s next transport day is Wednesday, Sept. 23.

According to the local law enforcement records, the suspect’s last known address was in La Grande, however most of his trouble with law enforcement has been in the Pendleton area. He shows up in the system with 17 arrests for 24 crimes.

Law enforcement also lists him as a registered sex offender.
