UMATILLA – Beginning tomorrow (Thursday) at approximately 7 a.m., Oregon Department of Transportation crews will mobilize at the Umatilla Marina to assemble a barge near the fuel dock and Dock A. The barge will support upcoming repair work on the Umatilla Bridge.

Barge assembly is expected to take several hours, and a safety perimeter will be established around the work area. The marina boat ramp will remain open and operational, but boaters and visitors are asked to use extra caution and give crews plenty of room to work.

Bridge repairs are expected to take approximately two to three weeks. During construction, traffic across the Umatilla Bridge may intermittently be reduced to one lane. Motorists should watch for posted signs and traffic control and allow additional travel time.

ODOT plans to retrieve the barge and equipment from the marina September 29–30, which may result in additional activity near the docks.
